The Palapa Society of Todos Santos
Francisco Bojorquez between Cuautemoc and Carrillo
This post is from Sept 15, 2014- June 30, 2015. The intern will be trained in the teaching of English to kids and teens, and will work approx. 20 hours a week both teaching and assisting the program director. This is a chance to teach English while learning the overall structure of a not-for-profit. We are the only institution in our small town providing English classes to the public. In addition to English classes, we also provide scholarships for high school and university, to create better opportunities for local kids. This is a wonderful small town, near the ocean.
The intern will work Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday from 3-7 in our English classrooms, teaching kids and teens. The intern will spend approx 5-8 hours weekly preparing lessons, copying, and setting up materials. On Wednesday, the intern will help with the Art class, from 4:30-6:00. The intern is expected to attend any special events that we host, including special student activities on Saturdays.
Must have an interest in language teaching and learning. Must like children, teens and people generally. Must be looking forward to learning some Spanish. College degree preferred, people on track to becoming teachers are given priority.
