Description

Generation lnfocus (GI) is an after school science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM)
focused program that incorporates the arts (STEAM). We are committed to intentionally providing children with minds-on and hands-on learning opportunities that expose students to career fields in the areas of science, technology, engineering, arts and math.

Currently we are seeking interns who would be interested in volunteering at one of our charter school locations in Atlanta, Georgia. This is a great opportunity for a college student or any person interested in enhancing their teaching and educational working experience with children.

Learning Opportunity:
-Learn and work alongside certified teachers
-Learn how to create STEM/STEAM lesson plans
-Learn how to implement and teach lesson plans
-Develop skilled practice working with children
-Will receive job work experience and employer recommendation from Gi
-Operating hours are Monday - Friday from 2pm-6pm

Interns who already volunteer for programs such as Americorp and need additional volunteer hours are welcomed.

Responsibilities

Interns will support in the daily delivery of programming to children in grades K-2 to include but not be limited to:
-Learn how to create STEM/STEAM lesson plans
-Learn how to implement and teach lesson plans
-Learn program management and implementation skills
-Snack time assistance
-Recess assistance
-Home Work help
-Inventory tracking
-Child registration assistance

Requirements

-Must be able to commit to at least 6 hours per week, 15-20 hours per week is ideal during the operating hours of Monday - Friday between 2pm-6pm.

Interns must be able to pass a background check.
