Description

TechStart Tampa Bay is looking for a new intern. This organization is a 503C Non-profit that helps underprivileged kids to learn skills using technology such as, 3D printing, coding, robotics, and more. It benefits the kids greatly, opening so many doors to their future. And for the intern it will look great on a resume. TechStart opens up great resources through our prestigious board of directors. This is also a great opportunity for internship or volunteer credit for your school.

Responsibilities

Duties will include instructing classes in simple step-by-step processes in Code.org, First Robotics, and 3D printing. This position will only require 5 hours a week, but of course more time is welcome. Position is unpaid. During this time, internship related duties will include working in classrooms after school for 45 minute intervals with at least one class per week. A feedback session with program director, Akira Mitchell, after each class will be required via online source or in person. Travel time to and from schools may be counted towards involvement time. Any remaining time should be allotted to company promotion for TechStart Tampa Bay.

Requirements

Must be at least 16 years of age to qualify. Experience with kids, and basic reading, writing, and technology skills are all you need to be considered for a position. A background check and reliable transportation is required before meeting with children and a reliable source of transportation is necessary. Please, state your desired age range to be involved in. (Elementary, Middle, High School, or no preference.)
