Description

Our CEO is an accomplished Journalist, entrepreneur, and award-winning non-profit officer. She spent 19 years at CNN as a producer for Special Programming and has turned her creative and critical eye towards the next great mountain to climb - children.

Through her many years at CNN she has curated a curriculum that she believes will help to push the next generation of children forward and allow them to be impactful and respectful members of society.

In a world where children are exposed to bullying off and online, in schools and on their phones, we need something that can counteract the negative noise that kids are immersed in. In an effort to turn the sound of discouragement off and to reduce suicide rates among young adults and to build a sense of pride among children we created Respectful Ways.

Respectful Ways is an educational start-up that is focused on creating meaning signage for classrooms across America to inform and empower students and teachers in how to be respectful to themselves and others around them. It is a continuation of the ideology behind Respectful Signage (respectfulsignage.com), which employed thoughtful and respectful ways for store owners to talk to their patrons about what was and wasn't appropriate in their stores.

We are creating a full-service platform that gives teachers the teaching tools to perfectly use our materials and take control of their classrooms. This year-round program will feature signage, lesson plans, elearning and live webinars.

We are seeking several Editorial, Journalism, Marketing and Social Media Interns to help us to form continue to form this incredibly important program. This work is highly rewarding and will give you a vast amount of freedom and ownership of your own work.

We are offering school credit and flexible hours.

In your cover letter please describe a time when you saw or were impacted by school bullying and how you think a program like this could have helped that situation.

This internship is for one year, but there is the possibility of continuing past that. We look forward to hearing from you!
