Description

Social Peacebuilder Intern
SPARK, a nonprofit organization aiming to reduce community violence through education, is seeking interns, (students and community organizers), to help establish Social Peace Studies programs in local schools. Training is provided online. Stipends and scholarships can be earned based on results, but expect to do at least one demonstration project without compensation. Flexible hours. Responsibilities

Identify, contact and educate key local community stakeholders re: benefits and logistics of Social Peace Studies programs.
Help organize and support local Social Peace Studies programs.
Help evaluate local Social Peace Studies programs.

Requirements

Must be a self starter, committed to:
Helping reduce social violence through education to build a safer world
Completing a few hours of online training on how to be an effective social peacebuilder
Talking to local school and community stakeholders (students and adults) about reducing social violence through education

Skills

Required - Good communication skills
Preferred - Planning & Organizing Skills
