Make a Difference, Not Coffee!

Who We Are and What We Do
We are the Institute for Wellness Education. We train people in the art and science of behavior change. Our training enables people to become certified wellness coaches or incorporate wellness coaching skills into their existing jobs and responsibilities.

Our courses give people science-based tools to help them make sustainable changes in their own lives and help others do the same so everybody can enjoy longer, healthier, and happier lives.

For an example of our course, see the free MOOC we're offering:

What Is the Internship?
Interns will work on a content development team to help us create a new online course focusing on core coaching skills, plus health topics, including diet, exercise, and stress management.

You will work with senior leadership to create content pages, quizzes, and assignments based on a detailed course outline and a wealth of content materials. You also will work on adding photos, charts, and other images to the pages.

The main skills you'll be using are writing. So, you must have EXCELLENT writing, analytical, and critical thinking skills. This internship will allow you to apply those skills in ways that make a difference, not just earn a grade.

We're based in northern New Jersey and operates as a “virtual” company. Interns work from home regardless of where they live. All you need is a fast internet connection and telephone. All your work, including attending team meetings, will be done remotely.

This is an internship for a highly talented person with outstanding communication and organizational skills. You also must be very detail oriented, analytical, and creative.

You’ll work with super smart, dedicated people to create some of the most meaningful online training today. More than that, the work you do promises to make a positive difference in the lives of thousands of people throughout the world!

COMPENSATION
Interns will earn 3 UNITS OF COLLEGE CREDIT (nutrition) and a PROFESSIONAL CERTIFICATE IN WELLNESS COACHING in lieu of monetary payment.

You will be listed as a course contributor along with Drs. David Mee-Lee and Deborah Teplow on IWE's website.

We’re looking for top talent right now who want to be part of a team that's making a difference in the world.

Your major was education, health communication, journalism, mental health, or a field that gave you plenty of training in writing with precision and grace. You must be able to write and speak excellent English.

We value drive, creativity, attention to detail, fast response time, organization, unwavering commitment to outstanding quality, and focus on results. You are a motivated self-starter who works well alone and as part of a team.

We are a start-up, so this is a great position for someone who has a growth-mindset, is self-directed, and ready to roll their sleeves up to co-create a fantastic product. If you are more comfortable with a lot of rules, regulations, rigid hierarchies, and corporate policies, this is not the internship for you.
