DescriptionStep Up For Students is a state-approved nonprofit scholarship funding organization that helps administer two scholarships for Florida schoolchildren: the Florida Tax Credit Scholarship Program (FTC) for low-income families and the Personal Learning Scholarship Accounts (PLSA) for children with certain special needs.
Step Up For students Department of Family and Community Affairs is proud to announce the availability of an exciting paid internship in our Clearwater office. Located at 1901 Ulmerton Rd., Clearwater, FL 33762.
We are looking for a highly motivated individual who is passionate about public service and school choice to start working as soon as possible. This internship position will allow the candidate to gain hands on experience with the day to day operations of the External Affairs and Faith Based branches of the Family and Community Affairs Department at Step Up For Students. Additionally, the intern will have the opportunity to network with various community leaders and elected officials.
ResponsibilitiesConduct telephone outreach to Step Up For Students supporters to engage their participation in the local outreach events
* Assist with database maintenance and cleanup
* Attend designated events. Opportunity for networking
* Answer the phone and direct calls
* Internet Research
* Research opportunities for the department
* Gather personal stories from students and families to share with our champions
* Other duties as assigned.
Requirements• Knowledge in Database management and knowledge of worksheets
• Knowledge of gathering information through internet research
• Experience working at special events
• Ability to prioritize tasks
• Excellent communications skills
• Passionate about education and school choice
• Time management skills
Time Commitment: A minimum commitment of 3 months, 2-3 days per week based on 5-7 hour days. Flexible hours.
