DescriptionWith increasing international opportunities in areas like business and higher education, Palestinians are eager to develop their English language skills. They hear English often on TV and in music but they hardly ever have the chance to improve their English with native speakers. As a volunteer teacher, you will have a positive impact on the students you teach and the city of Hebron. Volunteer teaching will provide you with the opportunity to learn about the history, culture and conflict in Palestine. We encourage our volunteers to experience all dimensions of Palestinian and Hebron culture during their time with La Casa. There will be plenty of time during your program to experience Palestine and visit nearby cities such as Bethlehem, Jerusalem, Jericho and Ramallah.
ResponsibilitiesIt is expected that you work 25/30 hours per week. Your work will consist of the following tasks: -Teaching English conversation courses -Planning educational activities -Organizing educational workshops on varied topics (E.g. how to write a CV, cover letter or formal e-mail) - Assisting La Casa Center in strengthening community relations and relations with local/international organizations.
