DescriptionAt CulturePlay we provide technology workshops for youth K-12 emphasizing a transformative learning environment that is engaging and interactive drawing upon the ideas, actions and creations of their diverse cultures. We encourage students to be playful in their learning because we believe that this type of active learning increases their engagement with their ideas, and strengthens their capacity to work with others. Our aim is to provide opportunities that allow youth to integrate both their imagination and intellect to become knowledge creators of their generation. We are seeking to hire interns & part-timers to teach 10-week technology classes for K-12 students in one or more of the following topics: Minecraft, Game Salad, Scratch, Python, Java, Lego Robotics & 3D Printing. Following the 10 week session, internship students can opt to apply for a paid part-time position.
Responsibilities*Prep and plan for weekly technology classes that have clear learning objectives
*Teach 10-week technology classes for K-12 students in one or more of the following: Minecraft, Game Salad, Scratch, Python, Java, Lego Robotics & 3D Printing.
*Create a positive classroom experience and learning community for up to 20 kids
*Establish and uphold classroom agreements, behavioral management, and student incentive system
*Introduce new classes based on your own specific interests or skills (let us know what excites you!)
Requirements- STRONG TECHNOLOGY BACKGROUND
- ENJOY WORKING WITH YOUNG CHILDREN GRADES K - 8 & OLDER KIDS 9 - 12 grades.
- WE ARE LOOKING TO HIRE INSTRUCTORS WHO CAN TEACH MINECRAFT, CODING OR LEGO ROBOTICS.
- Possess multi-tasking and coordination experience
- Demonstrate attention to details while maintaining perspective
