The Project Coordinator will design and implement energy efficiency projects.

We support energy efficiency education and work to translate the best energy science into practical building performance improvements for all sectors of our community.

This internship will include assisting the Energy Specialist in assessing the energy consumption of homes, businesses and public buildings.

Students will build real-world skills helping regional businesses become more energy efficient including hands-on training in environmental stewardship.

The Program student internships may conduct energy audits in Atlanta and surrounding counties. Interns will work in teams to evaluate energy usage at homes and businesses. Based on their findings, teams will make recommendations for increasing energy efficiency, thereby reducing costs and energy-related carbon emissions.

The weekly workload for the Project Coordinator position will vary between 15 and 30 hours per week.

• Support the client-service efforts through data collection and data entry, creating graphs and charts, research, and writing and editing reports
• May assist in LEED projects and in ENERGY STAR benchmarking
• Some fieldwork and client interaction
• Report to Team Director
• Coordinating and assembling marketing materials
• Managing and tracking inventory and equipment
• Shadowing energy auditors to learn data points and diagnostic methods
• Facilitating data tracking and results analysis; may include writing customer reports
• Researching new trends in environmental standards as applied to existing housing stock


• Major in the sciences, business, IT/IT related, statistics, engineering, environmental sciences (Note: Students with work experience in their major area of study including previous internships and/or co-ops and academic lab experience are preferred)
Track record of achievement and leadership in work and/or extracurricular activities
Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
Evidence of leadership and teamwork skills
Desire for a career in energy & environment industry
• Emphasis study in science, engineering or environmental program.
• Comfortable working with computers.
• Good organizational skills. Detail oriented.
• Strong interest in Energy Efficiency career.
