DescriptionIAASR is a small R&D company that specializes in electronic components and systems with the objective being to design systems and acquire skills to compete with other companies and eventually lead on a specific product. Components and systems manufacturing are done in house in compliance with quality assurance procedures.
As an intern you would be unpaid, and would be required to attend on weekends. On the weekends, the team of interns meet at 10am, but the earlier it is, the better it is. During each weekend, there is usually a brief meeting at the start, discussing the status of each intern's project. Discussion includes what the intern had planned to do that day, what problems (if any) they had encountered, what they had completed, etc.
The team is driven by their commitment and passion for engineering, which have been the key elements to their success when working on projects each month. 1-2 major projects are usually planned every months. It is then broken down into several sub-categories and tasks that are spanned throughout the weekends. Depending on the abilities and skills that each intern possesses, their roles and responsibilities in a project vary.
Each weekend is a building block for the following one. Therefore, our interns are usually faced with challenging tasks that they have the capabilities of doing because their skills are assessed regularly by the use of agile management system. If interns demonstrates rapid growth of knowledge and skills, they may get the opportunity to lead a project. There are no boundaries for learning so for example, if a mechanical engineering wants to learn about electrical engineering, he/she will have the opportunity.
Interested candidates should visit www.iaasr.com for additional information about the company and products that are being manufactured. If you want to join the team, submit a resume and cover letter to email@example.com with the email title "Internship application from internships.com" to be considered.
ResponsibilitiesRoles and responsibilities for each intern may vary depending on the project they are doing. Generally, interns are expected to complete all the tasks assigned to them for a given project. Tasks that interns will be exposed to on a daily basis may involve one or more of the following:
Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing
Thermal Systems Design
Automated Manufacturing Design
Design for Manufacturability (DFM)
Finite Element Analysis
Multiphase Cooling System Design
PCB Drafting Including DFM
High Speed Design
Power Conversion Topologies
Application Specific Integrated Circuit (ASIC)
Embedded System Programming
