An internship with Florida Crystals is a great way to apply what you’ve learned in the classroom. We offer the opportunity to experience what work may be like after graduation and to build a foundation for your career.

As an intern at Florida Crystals, you’ll be part of a team working together with professionals in your field. You’ll gain experience working for a top tier food manufacturer that will help you to develop skills you’ll carry forward. You’ll be building relationships that you will likely continue even after your internship ends. The people who apply for the Florida Crystals Corporation Internship Program are enthusiastic students in various degree programs.

We offer a competitive wage for internship positions. We do not provide students with housing but do provide a gas allowance based on your commuting miles.

The Internship Model: The right internship can help you build a successful career.
Training Work Experience Development
To help you understand our people, our culture and our business, you’ll meet professionals in areas of our business related to the internship. You’ll learn about our history and our values.
You’ll complete required training to ensure your safety while at work.
You’ll receive some technical on-the-job training to help you bridge the gap between your education and your initial assignment as an intern.
Our work assignments are in the area in which you are currently studying. You’ll work directly with professionals in the field.
Throughout your internship you’ll work closely with your supervisor. You’ll be asked to attend management meetings. At the end of your internship, you’ll be asked to present to the management team on your work experience and provide us feedback on how we can continue to improve our process/business and the internship experience.
During your internship, you’ll have other opportunities to learn.
Safety/Wellness Meetings – You may join or even be asked to present on a safety or wellness topic at one of the location’s scheduled meetings.
Management Meetings –You’ll be asked to attend and present for your department along with your supervisor. You’ll hear about what is happening in the other departments and enhance your experience by learning about how your department fits into the rest of the operation.
360 Degree Performance Evaluation – Feedback is as important to our development as it is to yours. Your supervisor will provide you with feedback on your performance through both formal and informal means. Because you will work closely with your supervisor on a daily basis, you’ll receive verbal feedback on your performance. To help you to continue to grow, your supervisor will also complete performance appraisals providing you with feedback on how you are doing and areas in which you can continue to improve. In addition, you’ll be asked to complete an evaluation of your overall internship experience that you will provide to Human Resources.

You are expected to meet the employment standards that our regular full time employees would meet. You must be eligible to work in the United States and have a strong academic record (3.0 GPA or better). You must be entering your junior or senior year in college and have completed some course work toward your chosen field of study (i.e. engineering or agriculture). You must be at least 18 years old. You must be available to work a minimum of eight (8) consecutive weeks during the months of June through August. Prior related experience is a plus. Outstanding interpersonal skills, the ability to write clearly and accurately, and strong verbal communication skills are essential. As part of the hiring process, you must successfully complete a background investigation, reference check, and pre-placement physical and drug screen.
