DescriptionPlatinum Sound Recording Studios is one of New York City's premier recording studios, located steps from Times Square. Since 2000, Platinum Sound Recording Studios has been the birthplace for countless GRAMMY award-winning records and albums, and has seen the biggest names and most exciting up-and-coming acts come through their doors.
Platinum Sound offers audio interns an opportunity to work in our boutique recording studio that caters to the music needs of all genres. We are actively seeking motivated students/post-graduates to join our team as they learn the best of the best.
Please be advised that we are not seeking any beat-makers or producers. Genuine, hard-working and flexible interns are preferred for this year-round internship.
ResponsibilitiesAwareness of simple audio problems.
Diagnosis of noises and hums.
Testing level differences and “out of phase” connections.
Ability to explain problems in detail on a Trouble Report.
Skills in changing out equipment, outboard gear, amplifiers, etc.
Basic maintenance, dusting and cleaning gear.
Soldering and and connector termination
RequirementsMust have attended a credible audio school
Knowledge of basic electronics
Must be familiar with gear interfacing and connections
Knowledge of equipment signal flow
Competent using a Macintosh computer
Mid/High level of Pro Tools proficiency
File management, multi tasking, and common sense
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Key Note
*Plus: experience with various DAW’s and troubleshooting
