Responsibilities

*** Previous Co-Op/Internship experience strongly preferred!! ***

Participate in the Engineering Development Program (EDP) - a two-year program for entry-level engineers to rotate through several departments focusing on projects related to manufacturing. Upon completion of the program, responsibilities and tasks include the following:

Opportunities typically exist in the following areas.

- Manufacturing:
o Process Engineer - Determine the sequence of steps or processes required to fabricate and assemble products that meet the standards of quality and cost.
o Equipment Engineer - Troubleshoot & Analyze equipment to resolve issues and recommend new equipment in a timely manner. Analyze equipment data to identify areas for improvement in equipment – use trend data to proactively address issues before they are major problems.

- Quality: Root cause analysis: Resolve complex issues impacting both the product and customers. Complete complex investigations to determine the source of product issues as well as defective contributors. Document each defect or issue as needed and issue trouble reports as necessary.

- Information Services - Support Manufacturing IT as Subject Matter Expert (SME) regarding relationship between manufacturing equipment and all aspects of Information Technology (i.e. industrial communication, network connectivity, PLC programming efficiency, and equipment programming will interact with related software packages).

Knowledge: Knowledge of manufacturing processes. Basic understanding of automobile parts, systems, and functions.

Experience: Minimum of 3 months of related co-op/internship experience. Co-op/Internship experience in automotive industry or manufacturing environment desired.

Degree: Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Materials Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related.

Bachelor of Science in Engineering / Engineering Technology
(applicable majors) - Mechanical, Electro-Mechanical, Metallurgical, Materials, Manufacturing

Requirements:
"-Communicate effectively w/prod. & mgt. associates
-Perform statistical analysis on data / analytical troubleshooting skills
-Proficient in Microsoft Office software applications
-Engineering related coursework or experience
-Ability to read & understand tech. drawings / CAD or related experience
