DescriptionFuture Facilities is expanding and therefore the vacancy of Engineering Intern has become available. In return Future Facilities offers a varied role with an exciting array of opportunities emerging as the company expands.
Passionate about datacenter simulation Future Facilities is a privately-owned company formed in 2004 with a simple mission: to ensure every datacenter can be a model datacenter. One where risk is mitigated and energy efficiency maximised – while both capital and operational costs are reduced to the absolute minimum.
Our senior team boasts several acknowledged experts in the design and application of Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) software for the datacenter industry. And in June 2006, after two and a half years of painstaking R&D, we launched 6SigmaDC – a suite of integrated software products that tackles head-on the challenges of datacenter lifecycle engineering through the Virtual Facility (VF).
This is a paid internship and the successful applicant will be expected to work 20 hours per week.
ResponsibilitiesAs an Engineering Intern, you will gain experience in;
• Surveying of existing Data Centres
• Liaising with high-profile clients
• Simulation of Data Centres utilising Future Facilities’ own in-house 6SigmaDC suite of software
• Developing Training Courses
• Performing Sales Demonstrations
• Testing new software
RequirementsApplicants should have as a minimum completed coursework in heat transfer and fluid mechanics and be willing to demonstrate their work.
Academic and / or practical engineering experience in CFD, fluid-dynamics, thermo-dynamics and building services, may be beneficial though not essential.
The ideal candidate should be excellent at communicating both verbally and in writing; should show good problem solving and lateral thinking abilities; and should work well in a team as well as alone.
