Located in the heart of Colorado's Beaver Creek Resort, this 530-seat theatre, owned and operated by the Vail Valley Foundation, VPAC presents a variety of year-round performances including jazz, comedy, dance, film, musicals, theatre, concerts and more.

Dates: Flexible Winter: Jan – April, Summer: June – Aug
Hours: Regular Office Hours plus additional time to accommodate performances and special events (typically evenings and weekends)
Purpose: To provide administrative support and organizational skills to the Vilar Performing Arts Center (VPAC) and Vail Valley Foundation (VVF) operations staff with particular emphasis on the following departments:

**The following are examples; they are subject to change pending the season and upcoming shows and needs of the VPAC.

 Learn press release and media pitch process
 Social media
 Work on VPAC Street Team, Concierge Program, Farmers’ Markets and other grassroots marketing efforts
 Collect and organize marketing materials
 Other projects as assigned

House Management
 Assist House Manager with operations during events & performances
 House Manager/ Volunteer show communication
 Guest Experience

Food & Beverage
 Assist F&B manager with special events ie: Patron Party, May Gallery events, meetings
 Assist F&B manager with hospitality ie: Artist Hospitality - show days
 Assist F&B manger with inventory
 Bartending/concessions
 Other projects as assigned

Box Office
 Train on ticketing system (AudienceView) and box office procedures
 Review and evaluate new software options for ticketing
 Customer service – phone, in person, online
 Theatre knowledge – possibly give tours to visitors is Community Relations Manager is out
 Other projects as assigned

Office of the Executive Director
 Assist with material collection for committee meeting
 Learn to execute artist contracts and rental contracts
 Assist with May Gallery operations
 Other projects as assigned

 Collect data from donors for priority ticketing benefit
 Assist with VPAC Club Nights and special donor performance & reception
 Assist with VPAC direct mail solicitation process
 Other projects as assigned

 Shadow Technical/Assistant Director from load-in to load-out during a performance
 Review programming & funding process with Executive Director
 Grant writing assistance/review
 Financial overview with Director & Business Manager

Vail Valley Foundation Operations

 Assist in 2015 World Championship Ski Race planning and logistics
 Assist with other community involvement, Youth Foundation, sports events, fundraising pending the season
 Assist in Vail International Dance Festival/ GoPro Mountain Games planning and logistics
 Coordinate Vail International Dance Festival hospitality for dance companies (summer)

Job Qualifications
• Education: Students actively pursuing a 4-year undergraduate degree or graduate degree with arts focus
• Very strong organizational and communications skills
• Ability to adhere to deadlines & operate under pressure
• Customer service standards
• A general working knowledge and appreciation of the arts and education
• Must be proficient in the use of a variety of computer applications such as Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and Access; Photoshop, Illustrator or similar are helpful
• Some heavy lifting, running of errands and menial tasks are inherent in the intern job description

 Job duties will vary on a daily basis and on the schedule of the intern
 Flexibility and a hands-on approach will be expected at all times
 Management will establish intern priorities and adjust as necessary; however intern will be expected to meet deadlines and stay on schedule with projects
 Generally speaking the work week will be Monday through Friday, but Intern will also be required to work weekends & nights depending on event/performance schedule
 Unpaid internship although housing will be provided

Internship may be ideal for students studying: Performing arts/Theatre, Management, Concert/Event production, Food & Beverage minors, Facility management minors, Marketing (to a unique community resort/tourist), Fundraising/Development
