DescriptionFlappers offers an exciting opportunity for interns looking to discover what the comedy business is all about! We offer internships in a variety of departments, a chance to work directly with and learn from Flappers Comedy Club employees to gain real-world job skills to use in the entertainment business, opportunities to meet and connect with business professionals, unlimited comp tickets for interns and up to 10 guests at all shows (except Special Events) at both Flappers Comedy Club locations during your internship, and best of all... two FREE full multi-week courses of the intern's choice with Flappers University! (Please note: Stage time is NOT included as compensation for any internship.)
Internships we are currently looking for include:
BOOKING INTERN: Will assist bookers with scheduling, rescheduling, and confirming comedians for upcoming shows, monitoring pre-sales, populating our Talent Database, and working on Onsite Coordinating. Intern will learn and implement marketing techniques, including email marketing, social media, and creative strategies, that will enable them to produce, sell, and stage manage a live comedy event.
SOUND INTERN: Will learn the fundamentals of how to greet & seat guests in the 60 Seat YooHoo room. They will also learn how to run the soundboard and music during a comedy show, and how to Video record comedians sets.
VIDEO INTERN: Intern will focus on the basics of video production, importing raw footage, and processing video of comedians' performances. Intern will also assist in DVD production, online delivery, tracking and documenting the Flappers video library for marketing purposes, and assisting in production of online comedy content.
GRAPHICS INTERN: MUST have moderate/advanced Photoshop skills: will create upcoming events posters + flyers for the club, as well as flyers for specific shows, club flyers, business cards, online website banner art, etc. Will also inspect club to ensure that all promotional materials are up to date.
SOCIAL MEDIA INTERN: Intern will assist in scheduling, managing and engaging comics & guests across all social media outlets, adding content to all of the major social media platforms during shows (especially Fridays & Saturdays), and in production of other online content.
FLAPPERS UNIVERSITY INTERN: Flappers University Intern will assist the Dean of Classes with school administration scheduling, rescheduling, and confirming students and instructors for classes, and emailing and assist students with enrollment and registration into classes.
H2F COMEDY PRODUCTIONS / OFF-SITE BOOKING INTERN: Intern will assist with scheduling & confirming comedians for off-site events. Internship will include learning how to create contracts with schools and talent, as well as creating a relationship with clubs, casinos, cruise ships, and colleges. The intern will observe, discover, and implement skills such as networking, negotiation, and talent management.
