DescriptionOrganization is composed of 2 performing arts schools with a focus on dance, gymnastics, music, and film. The company has been in business for 34 years, with the main location held in a historic 1914 two-story high school in the city of Carleton, MI. The second location, open for 3 years, is in Brownstown, MI, and currently holds wait lists on 40% of the classes there.
With almost 500 students, and a yearly operating budget of over $300,000, the current focus is on after-school programs, which have received national recognition for choreographic excellence and produced yearly professionals in the dance and performing arts industry.
The organization is currently undergoing structural changes, recently transitioning from a sole owner to a corporation with a board of directors, and a new full-time Business Manager. Over the next year, the strategic plans include: *Increase outreach within the local and Metro-Detroit based communities both civic, educational and performance industry based networks;
*Attract opportunities to utilize the primary building for daytime and overnight uses through film companies, home school networks, organizational team building outings;
*Growing the student body to add another 100 students into the after school program by fall of 2015;
*Increase revenues and after-expense profits by 17% by July of 2016.
This organization is family oriented, with families being the life-blood of our programs, however, we take the business aspect very seriously as well. Our new Business Manager has built Marketing Departments for large organizations, increased events audiences by 700% in 13 days of marketing, coordinated events that attract 500,000+ people, and chaired fundraisers that profited $30,000 in the first year of start-up. She has also built a photography training program for a prestigious UK University, and an Events, Marketing, and Social media internship program for the midwest's largest Arts Mecca. Having managed more than 50 interns over the course of her career, she has helped to secure employment for approximately 40% of those interns in reputable positions after the internship is completed, when completed with standards of excellence, honesty and integrity.
The work environment is fast paced, non-stop, and always evolving. Every week there are new deadlines, new events, and new challenges. This will be an internship where you will learn a great deal, be expected to take leadership and ownership of your job role, while also being a team player able to take direction and critiques with grace and quick adjustments.
Responsibilities- Create signage, newsletters, email campaigns, online promotions, etc.
- Provide support to social media efforts to target new audiences.
- Assist with securing special events and civic engagements to promote company and increase attendance.
- Research and analyze competitor marketing and sales materials.
- Collaborate on team presentations for management and clients.
- Analyse R.O.I. for marketing initiatives being done.
Requirements- Pursuing a Bachelors Degree in Marketing
- Possess excellent written and verbal communication and customer service skills.
- Possess creativity, flexibility, variety, and growth potential.
- Should be open-minded, a fast learner, enthusiastic, and adaptable.
