DescriptionWORLD MUSIC/CRASHARTS World Music/CRASHarts is a nonprofit organization that presents an eclectic mix of global, folk, jazz, and indie music along with contemporary and world dance in a series of concerts, events, and educational programs in greater Boston. It strives to offer audiences an opportunity to share in many different artistic performances and seeks to foster an atmosphere of cultural discovery. For 25 years, World Music/CRASHarts has answered a need for cultural programming in greater Boston that reflects today’s global community.
•Write press releases and assist in the coordination of publicity campaigns
•Maintain media support materials including photos, slides and CDs
•Create program notes for concerts, dependent upon computer abilities
•Supervise in-office volunteers
•Conduct community outreach research, coordinate mailings and flyer distribution
•Facilitate radio promotions and ticket giveaways
•Create content for social media and World Music/CRASHarts blog
•Update patron database and take ticket orders, as needed
•Contribute to the CRASHers young professional group, including participating in events and marketing
•Analyze and make recommendations based on Google Analytics and database reporting
•Other responsibilities as assigned
Note: This internship is flexible. Responsibilities can be custom-tailored to intern’s interests and skills.
The successful candidate will have the following skills:
•Highly organized, energetic and articulate with exceptional attention to detail
•Excellent written and proof reading skills
•An ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and work under pressure
•Must be able to take initiative and being a problem-solver
•Working knowledge of Windows and Word
•A background in graphic design a plus.
