Always be on the alert for potentially fraudulent job postings online - never send money to a potential employer.
DescriptionMonkeyGoose Magazine is a small (but growing) online entertainment publication that focuses on music, movies, and occasionally gaming as well. We currently have around two dozen contributors around the country who are interning for us. Music contributors are getting into small to medium size concerts to take photos from the pit, building their photography portfolios and going to their approved shows for free, then writing a show review to go along with their photos. Movie contributors are doing everything from movie reviews to op-eds, top 10 lists, etc. They're writing about the stuff they love. If you're interested in joining our team, please contact us for more details!
ResponsibilitiesOnce on board, a concert request form will be shared with you, where you will be able to add all the shows you are interested in attending. Must be able to provide publicist information for both headlining and opening bands, which will almost always be found on the about sections of bands' Facebook pages.
Must be able to attend shows you are approved for. Possibility for interviews with bands online or in person.
Movie contributors, please look for the ability to get into press screenings, as you are not required to pay for anything to review for us. (If you are planning on attending a movie, great! Review it! But we will never expect you to buy a ticket just for our purposes.)
Minimum of two articles/month.
You will receive credit for anything you submit, be added to our team page on the website and on Facebook, and retain ownership of all your work.
RequirementsIf interested in becoming a music contributor, must have and know how to use a DSLR camera. Must know how to color correct/edit your photos. Must maintain professionalism, good communication with Editor-In-Chief, and be capable of and okay with writing reviews along with the photos (around 3-4 paragraphs, nothing crazy).
Please provide photo and writing samples.
Movie contributors, please provide writing samples.
