Chautauqua Watershed Conservancy
413 North Main St.
DescriptionAre you passionate about our environment and want to be part of the solution? The Chautauqua Watershed Conservancy is a local nonprofit working to protect and enhance the ecological health of the Chautauqua region. With 17 nature preserves totaling over 700 acres, we are doing tangible work to conserve habitat and protect water quality in our county.
We are looking for talented go-getters who love a challenge and learning new skills. As an intern, you will gain valuable experience in the world of a typical environmental non-profit, while working to make a difference for the environment.
As a small 501(c)3 organization, we have the ability to be flexible, and seek interns who are, too. We are looking for passionate individuals willing to use their resources and do what it takes to achieve our goals and be capacity builders, so our organization can expand our conservation efforts.
What you will gain:
-You will learn about the challenges and threats facing our waters and do real work to help protect them!
-You will learn the ins and outs of working at a small non-profit organization.
-You will hone your creative skills.
-You will gain environmental science fieldwork experience.
-You will gain general office and fundraising experience.
The internship is flexible and can run for a semester, a summer, or ideally a full year.
This is an unpaid internship. CWC cannot provide housing or transportation.
This internship requires stair climbing, rigorous hiking for long periods of time, and the ability to lift heavy objects.
