Conservation volunteer
Design and deliver a school-vacation environmental program in the Galapagos. During their school vacation, about 50 children ages 10-14 of Isla Isabela participate in a day camp sponsored by the National Park. Volunteers are needed to design and plan the program during throughout January, then carry out the program as teachers and counselors in February and March every year. Support and guidance will be provided by National Park and IOI staff.

Responsibilities

Educación Ambiental en las Islas Galápagos: Descripción: Diseñar y entregar programa del medio ambiente durante la escuela vacacional en las Islas Galápagos. Durante sus vacaciones de la escuela, cerca de 50 niños entre las edades de 10-14 de Isla Isabela participan en un campamento de día patrocinado por el Parque Nacional. Se necesitan voluntarios para diseñar y planificar el programa en enero, y luego llevar a cabo el programa como los maestros y consejeros durante febrero y principios de marzo. Apoyo y orientación serán proporcionados por personal del Parque y un profesor estadounidense certificada.
Funciones principales: 1. Familiarizarse con los recursos naturales y educativos de la Isla Isabela. 2. En consulta con el personal, escribir programación para 5 semanas de días 6 horas. 3. La programación debe ser activo mas que academico. 4. Actuar como maestro / consejero para un grupo de aproximadamente 15 estudiantes durante el programa de cinco semanas.
Requisitos: Licenciatura en Educación Ambiental o Recreacion al Aire Libre. Bilinguel o nativo en idioma español. Experiencia trabajando con pre-adolescentes o los niños de la escuela intermediaria.

Requirements

Qualifications/skills:
Bachelor’s degree in Environmental or Outdoor Education. Advanced or Native Speaker Spanish skills. Experience working with pre-teen or middle school children.
