DescriptionThis internship will provide you experience with raising public awareness to an environmental issue and lobbying local elected officials and municipalities.
Under our Waterway Division’s Clean Waters Initiative, launched in conjunction with Miami Beach, help us create capacity amongst South Florida’s municipalities. The same way cities pay to maintain and clean up trash on our streets, we need to have our cities paying to clean and maintain our waterways.
Responsibilities will include:
• Familiarizing yourself with our Clean Waters Initiative.
• Attend weekly team meeting.
• Raise public awareness and public outcry to elected officials.
• Lobby commissioners, elected officials and municipal departments.
• Take pictures for and grow our Facebook page.
• Help maintain our community partnerships.
