DescriptionArt of the Event, Inc. is a full service event design, décor, and planning company. We fabricate custom props, signage, fabric treatments, buffet treatments, bars, and unique centerpiece designs for corporate and social Special Events and Meetings. Our vast database of recommended vendors provides our clients with the best New England has to offer in specialty linens, A/V, video, music, and entertainment.
This internship position is designed to create an optimum learning experience. This unique position is both challenging and exhilarating and can create many opportunities for personal and professional growth, networking, and organizational skills. Our interns will play a vital role in organizing a wide variety of events and gain valuable experience with many aspects of event operations and production. It is an excellent opportunity to bring theory to practice.
ResponsibilitiesAssist the event producers in developing and coordinating with aspects of the industry including, but not limited to event development, participant development, vendor coordination, rental coordination, database management, and entertainment coordination. In addition, our interns will also be performing general administrative tasks that include, but are not limited to, mailings and copying, creating and updating databases, answering phones, running errands that may need to be performed, relaying messages, and attending staff meetings.
RequirementsIt is expected that interns have experience with the Microsoft Office Suite. Experience with Adobe Design Suite (especially Photoshop & Illustrator) is preferred, but not required. In addition we expect that our interns have strong written and verbal communication skills. Interns must be able to work independently and as part of a team. Furthermore, we expect that our interns are highly organized, prepared for deadlines, and have strong problem solving skills.
Dress code is business casual, although more casual attire is permissible on days where no interaction with clients or vendors is anticipated. All interns are expected to have a car.
