ICE HOCKEY IN HARLEM is a non-profit community based organization for youth that uses the sport of hockey to promote academic achievement, responsibility, teamwork and good character.
The objective of the organization is to provide inspiration, encouragement and guidance to children leading to better life experiences, education and career opportunities. Since 1987, ICE HOCKEY IN HARLEM has enriched the lives of more then 1000 boys and girls from the Harlem community.

Responsibilities

Ice Hockey In Harlem is seeking an intern to aid with planning for its calendar of 25th anniversary fundraising events in 2012. The intern should be able to work collaboratively with staff, board and vendors in organizing events- big and small- that strengthen the organization's brand identity and fundraising.

Responsibilities:
• Research and contacting event spaces
• Identifying and securing in-kind sponsors for event(s)
• Managing sponsorship requests and solicitations
• Track donations received
• Present well organized reports on activities

Requirements

This position requires excellent written, verbal communication skills and follow up on contacts made. Must be organized, detail and team-oriented and able to assume multiple responsibilities while meeting deadlines. Leadership skills required. Strong computer skills and familiarity with Word, Excel, Power Point preferred.
