This is a great opportunity for a motivated individual to gain experience in the Hospitality Industry with Operations, Human Resources, Marketing and Event Planning. Internships at ESTATE can lead to part time & full time position(s).
About the Venue:
We are a high volume bar/restaurant open 7 days a week for dinner, late night dining and always open for private parties. Weekend nights are busy and have a lounge atmosphere. In July 2012, we opened Chicago’s largest open air rooftop restaurant and lounge -The StarDeck.

About the Program:
ESTATE’S Interns will get hands on experience in operating a high volume restaurant/bar hybrid that offers customers a ‘social dining + drinking’ experience in a unique venue. By the end of the program, the students will have learned from the Managing Partners and Managers on how to execute the day-to-day & weekly tasks that are required for daily operations. By successfully executing these tasks, the intern will help ESTATE reach its monthly and quarterly sales goals.
All interns will gain valuable experience with the following.
*Point of Sales System (Micros), Google Docs, Online Reservations (Open Table), Audio/Visual System (Pioneer, Crowne Point, others), Paycor Payroll Processing
*Customer Service - interns will learn the importance of on-site customer service, including repeat customers, as well as managing feedback
*Organizing & Running Meetings - attend weekly manager meetings, at least 2 preshift meetings including a weekend or private event preshift, community meetings (1 per term) and monthly PR meeting (marketing intern only)

ResponsibilitiesEvent Planning Interns will work directly with the Event Director & Chef and learn about booking & executing private parties.
Banquet Event Orders (BEOs) - learn to create BEOs upon booking a private event, finalize the menu with the chef 5 days before the event, collect deposits and follow-up with the customer after the event for feedback.
Private Parties - customize our email boiler plates to answer online submissions for private parties. Be able to answer questions on our venue and menus via email, phone and in person. Observe and eventually lead meetings with customers for private events.
Media Packs - manage, update and distribute media packets, which include company info, venue capabilities and catering menus.
Staff - provide overview of private events to staff, including menu requirements.
Sales - help generate leads on corporate events.
Requirements*Reliable, punctual, outgoing, deadline-driven, detail-oriented and organized
*Proficient with Google Docs and/or Microsoft Office (Photoshop is a plus)
*Excellent oral and written communication skills are a must
*Active in Social Group preferred (Greek System, Recreation Club, etc)
*Must be 21+, have a car & a laptop
