DescriptionEvents Coordinator Internship/Externship (10-20 hrs/week)
Location: We are located in New York and Boston, but the internship is flexible and we are looking for remote interns as well.
We’re looking for someone who will embody the Women’s iLab mission of furthering the future of women in innovation. We are looking for an intern who will help us to extend our brand with our hosted, sponsored and attended industry events. This person will learn community management, event management skills and personally be leading expanding our brand presence online and offline.
Intern will have an understanding of event planning best practices, tools, and strategies. We are looking to hire someone who is hungry to learn about the innovation and tech industry, who can provide innovative, strategic and creative ideas and work independently. You should also be current with events and news and have strong writing skills. Please note that this position is for internship credit. You will gain firsthand knowledge and opportunities to build your portfolio.
ResponsibilitiesWhat will you do?
Support coordination of monthly meet-ups, and quarterly conferences
Engage with current and new users across marketing promotions, social channels, answering questions, responding to questions and other customer service issues
Build network of event sponsors, attendees, and speakers
Create an ongoing strategy on new ways to grow fans and followers with engaging events
Assist in building Women’s iLab presence with helping to coordinate sponsorship events

Motivation and self-discipline to work in a young startup
Education and Experience:
Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in event management, public relations, marketing, advertising, business, or communications.
At least 1 year of professional/internship related experience.
