Description

The McKees Rocks Community Development Corporation (CDC Rocks) was formed in 2003 as a non-profit organization dedicated to the revitalization of a historically rich district in the Greater Pittsburgh Area. This organization is guided by a 20-year strategic plan to successfully restore the community to an economically and culturally prosperous state. Since 2008, the CDC has facilitated the opening of Dargate Galleries, the McKees Rocks Employment Training Center, the Dead Horse Cantina, and the $4.2M Father Ryan Arts Center. CDC Rocks proudly boasts current projects such as the $60M redevelopment of a former railroad brownfield, $500,000 annual contributions from six corporate partners, Main Street development on Chartiers Avenue, the redevelopment of the historic Roxian Theater, and a $50M CSX intermodal facility. As this organization grows, it sets a precedent for similar community development programs across the country while still maintaining the deep-rooted community values on which it was built.

The McKees Rocks CDC is currently seeking a promotional and event-planning intern for the Spring /Summer of 2014. This position will work alongside the Executive Director and Consultant in the planning and implementation of two major community-based events and several smaller opportunities.
