The Blaq Group, a rapidly expanding company in the event planning, consulting, and marketing, is looking for a highly motivated self-starter to assist in the development, design, planning, production, and execution of events. The candidate will be relied upon to interact with current and prospective corporate clients, sponsors and celebrities and assist in the development and execution of their events. The candidate will work with our marketing and business development team on budgeting, promotional materials, and administering the day to day operations of these events.

This candidate must have strong organizational skills, a high level of creativity, and excellent communication skills. As an Event Planning Intern, you will interact with top contacts across various industries as well as work with several different venues within the hospitality industry. This candidate will gain a strong foundation in event planning, event production, successful event execution and give you practical experience that you can apply to your coursework and future career.


• Develop successful strategies for targeting existing events and attracting new events
• Attend Event Planner Networking Events and other industry gathering alone or with Senior Staff and maintain a database of contacts
• Work with senior event director in execution of all events
• Event set up and décor
• Create contracts and BEO’s
• Communication with management and on site staff
• Perform market research to understand how companies plan their events either internally or externally and establish a list of contacts with internal planners
• Develop a prospective list of corporate clients, sponsors, and vendors
• Work with the marketing group to create promotional materials
• Research publications, and advertising platforms that will generate client leads
• Identify a calendar of events to produce utilizing the company’s promoters, hosts, event planners, and network combined with contacts you establish through these events
• Identify potential partners in various industries that can assist on sourcing events
• Maintain a list of all new/existing venues and the various pricing packages
• Working with the Marketing Team on a strategy to utilize our Social Media sites to source events
• Maintain a list of all new/existing venues in various cities and build a database of contacts, pictures, venue information, and venue descriptions


• A strong attention to detail and the ability to multitask
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Great interpersonal skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office
• Team-oriented and able to take the lead on relevant projects
• Interest in hospitality industry
• Available to work at least 3 days per week
• Ability to work on weekends and after hours
