DescriptionThe American Red Cross prevents and alleviates human suffering in the face of emergencies by mobilizing the power of volunteers and the generosity of donors.
The position of Special Events Intern will be responsible for supporting the chapter and regional fundraising and donor relations events, which may include our Annual Heroes Breakfast event, Mingling for a Mission, Team Red Cross and more. Intern would work in a friendly, fast paced environment supporting our Development and Special Events department. Interested candidates should have an interest or experience in Non-profit management, Business Administration, Marketing, Management, Hospitality or Event Planning, etc. This position is located at the Chicago chapter.

Responsibilities-To gain Create and complete outreach strategies to community partners and marketing departments to promote nominations as needed.
- Research and follow-up on nomination prospects nominations prospects from news stories, staff, and volunteer leads, etc.
-Manage database of nominations and support overall.
Requirements-Computer competence: Internet, Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
-Strong research skills.
-Strong written and verbal communication skills.
-Solid organization skills.
