DescriptionThe Briscoe Western Art Museum encompasses an approximately one and one-quarter acre campus with nearly 60,000,000 square-feet of building space, including the renovated historic 1930 library building and the newly constructed Jack Guenther Pavilion, along with the McNutt Courtyard and Sculpture Garden, and premiere River Walk frontage.
The Event Assistant Intern candidate for this position is able to work in a team environment. They will support the Events management department day to day tasks, which entails projects ranging from helping to plan, organize and execute events. Great learning opportunity for someone who is interested in marketing and coordinating all aspects of events. Overall opportunity to network with event industry professionals.
Responsibilities Expected to interact with customers through a high volume of calls and emails
Provide clients service in a timely manner.
Assist with audio visual event needs
Assist with social media
Follow up with clients by answering questions, booking tours and walk-throughs.
Discuss promotional details to potential customers
Personal accountability for driving successful sales and marketing goals.
Requirements Current College Sophomore, Junior or Senior with positive attitude
Currently earning a college/university degree in Special Events, Sport, Event & Tourism Management, Business Management, Marketing, Public Relations, Communications, Hospitality or similar major
Demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)
Ability to be flexible with work schedule. Will work some nights, weekends, and possibly holidays
Full availability for the duration of the internship
