DescriptionThis is an internship to join the TurnUpSF team as we host some of the hottest events and parties in and around San Francisco. TurnUpSF started about 2 years ago and has hosted a variety of events every week since. Some events are free to attend while others have a fee. Events typically land on Thursdays-Sundays with the occasional weekday happy hour or fundraiser. This internship can become partially paid depending on the event and commitment from the interns (there are 3 spots available and not every intern has to attend/host every event). TurnUpSF was started to create an active community in San Francisco and provide the opportunity to learn about the city and try new things in a group setting. The interns will meet tons of new people, learn valuable (and priceless) information about SF as well as build experience in the event industry. Events vary from bike rides, hikes, pub crawls, tours, happy hours, fund raisers, club parties, & more. I'm looking for people that are passionate and enjoy meeting new people.
ResponsibilitiesInterns will be helping with the management / promotion of events. This will include contacting venues, managing affiliates or sponsors, and getting supplies for events. Once the intern has more experience they're welcome to run events as the head host which will mean speaking in front of large groups, greeting everyone as they arrive, managing problems as they arise, and leading groups throughout the city.
RequirementsMust be social (can't have "off" days)
Must be organized and efficient
Must have good communication skills
Must be able to arrive to events in a timely manner - reliable
Must be able to solve problems quickly and think on their feet
