The New York Nonprofit Conference is a two- day annual conference dedicated to topics relevant to nonprofits and or organizations. The conference’s main focus is to help marketers in the nonprofit sector integrate their fundraising efforts, enhance their databases, and gain acquisition strategies. With keynote presentations, networking receptions, and concurrent sessions, the Nonprofit Conference helps marketers drive new creative breakthroughs. The Direct Marketing Association Nonprofit Federation is looking for a part time intern to work in our Washington, DC office for a minimum of 8 hours per week on the New York Nonprofit Conference. This individual must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, a strong work ethic, and a true interest in learning about event management and the hospitality industry. No prior experience is necessary but Event Planning, Communications, Marketing, Nonprofit, or other related fields of study are preferred.

This candidate will report to the DMANF Director of Education & Conferences and will learn new skills that will support the New York Nonprofit Conference and multiple events throughout the year. Possible assignments include but are not limited to event timeline organization, volunteer management assistance, creation of onsite and other logistical documents, vendor research, hotel housing assistance, administrative tasks, and more.

Requirements

This is not a paid position and travel will not be reimbursed. Volunteer/ Credit hours may be awarded based on quality of work. Please let us know your Volunteer/ Internship Program holds any specific requirements prior to acceptance of academic credit. Working hours are flexible and can be adjusted as needed: Summer, Fall, and Spring semester openings are currently available.
