DescriptionWe are looking for an energetic individual who loves planning social events to join our organization and assist us with our many community events! We are a starting nonprofit and need to introduce ourselves to the community. We already have a few event ideas for the next few months and need an event planner to help execute our events. We are looking for someone who is passionate and detail oriented, as well as, helping our community. This position can be full or part time.
New York City Community Services (NYCCS) is a promising 501(c)(3) nonprofit, on the path to making great changes within the local communities of NYC. In the past year NYCCS’s first program, Clinton Institute, has provided vocational training and job placement services to over 4,000 members of the local community. Inspired by Clinton Institute’s success, NYCCS is dedicating itself to creating more programs that cater to the needs of the community. Responsibilities- Maintaining relationships with community members, as well as, potential donors (excellent written and verbal communication skills are a must!)
- Collaborating with the chef and Executive Director on menu proposals, party themes, décor ideas, etc.
- Book talent and outside vendors such as DJs, photographers, valets, venues, etc.
- Negotiate and secure event space
- Prepare timelines & logistics for events
- Apply for permits as needed
- Work with local & national media outlets to promote the company
- Edit and design promotional materials
- Secure sponsorships
- Create invitee list
- Send out invitations and manage RSVP list
- Calculate budget and ensure they are adhered to
Requirements-Must be well organized, detail oriented with excellent follow-up
-Must possess excellent communication skills both internally and externally
-Be able to work with co-workers and clients in a fast paced environment, and work as a team player.
-Familiarity with Microsoft office applications, Word, PowerPoint, Excel,
