DescriptionOur father, Roy Wright, the founder, started the slogan “One Call Rents All” and it stuck! We still have our first rental dollar on the wall dated June 20, 1954. Roy Wright, founded the company in Canada in the 1950’s as Roy Wright, Ltd. – contractors supplies & equipment, Wrights Rental Service, Ltd. – contractors, commercial, industrial, homeowners, party equipment rental & supplies, and Steeltrue Structures, Ltd. – selling and erecting rigid frame clear span structures. In the 60’s and 70’s we evolved into A-1 Rent-Alls, Ltd., and Engineered Equipment, Ltd. In the 80’s we expanded in the U.S. when Tom & Nancy Wright started The Wright Group, which has grown to the family of companies listed on the bottom of this page, thanks to loyal clients like Joe Lang of Jazz Aspen Snowmass, as well as our team of excellent employees.Dave Wright graduated in 1972 and jumped head first into the rental business, 30 years later has seen the company grow and expand thru North America. The Canadian rental division runs a large equipment fleet, as well as a complete special events division including large structures and tents. 1999 we entered the high lift market and now have every lift size in our fleet. 2001 saw the company expand into the access scaffolding market. The Wright Group is a family owned and operated and we treat our staff just like family. With most of us having over 20 years' experience in the event field, the next faze for us is passing on the knowledge we've gained over the years. The internship we are offering is based in Colorado Springs. Our main office is in Denver and our second location is at Pikes Peak International Raceway located at: 16650 Midway Ranch Road, Fountain, CO 80817. Our friendly staff would love to have an intern to assist in launching the Grand Opening of the second office. This internship will not only show you the ropes in the event business but you will be working side by side with some of the top professionals in the business in Colorado. You will learn the day to day functions of an event business while at the same time, participating in events that are already booked. Having the right connections is key in event planning. We would like to help you get your foot in the door of the industry and start building your own book of business.
ResponsibilitiesThis position will be responsible for assisting the Event Coordinator with the coordination and planning of all Events.
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
Assist the Event Coordinator with the coordination and planning of in-house events (coordinate dates, determine number of guests, cost per event )
Maintain all communication files
Attend and assist in execution of all in-house events
Follow-up with deposits and records
Assist in the selling of all in-house events
Answer phones and direct calls
Assist with weekly pre-event consultations with the Event Coordinator
Assist Event Coordinator with the planning, event set-up, execution, tear down, and clean-up of the traditional events
Check supply stock for up-coming events and report to event coordinator
Social Media Updates
Sales Calls and Inquiries
Other duties as assigned
RequirementsRelated degree and/or 2-4 years related experience
Ability to use a personal computer
Experience in customer relations and customer service with events including scheduling, planning delegating tasks to provide quality service and hospitality to guests
Excellent communication and organizational skills, eye for detail, positive motivational attitude, and ability to handle all communication between prospective vendors
Have a working knowledge of Microsoft Office
