New GateWay Solutions is a small Christ-centered nonprofit organization located in Chula Vista, California, that has been set up specifically to help the unemployed and underemployed return to sustainable employment. We offer several solutions for our growing clientele: Career Solutions, Business Startup Solutions, and Technology Solutions. Currently, we provide services for 14 employment seekers and 9 Startup businesses.

Event Planning Intern will be responsible for assisting the organization and execution of New GateWay events, including confirming vendors and venues, designing event layouts, and preparing marketing materials for each event.


 Help plan and implement main season events
 Assist with budget preparation
 Establish and maintain vendor and venue contacts
 Create timeline for events
 Assist in selection of details such as menu, décor and theme
 Prepare marketing materials
 Promote events and maintain positive public relations
 Obtain donations and sponsors for specific events
 Work on site (set up and cleanup of events)
 Research and develop additional types of events relevant to New GateWay’s vision
 Begin planning next season’s main event
 Help organize church visits


 Have completed at least 1 year of college (preferred)
 Have access to reliable transportation
 Excellent writing, editing and research skills
 Ability to work in a flexible, fun, and strongly team-oriented environment
 Able to work independently and take initiative when necessary
 Must be able to prioritize, be dependable, and manage projects
 Strong organization and time management skills
 Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite and desire to learn new software
