Better known as the “REALITY Godmother”…Cynthia & her team are in the wish granting business. We offer proposal planning, full-service, Month of, and Destination Wedding Planning. We also offer planning for Honeymoon & Travel, Corporate, Social, and Military Events as well as Design services to fit our clients needs. Coupled with expert planning and impeccable execution, we make any event our client envisions the REALITY they deserve and an expression of who they are. As a wedding & event planning/design company, we will offer this program to give an “inside” view into the intricate complexities of the wedding and special event industry. This is a hands on internship- perfect for someone who seeks a challenging and rewarding opportunity within the event planning industry and is eager to learn. The successful candidate will learn research, marketing, event planning, best practices in business, and networking.

We are looking for serious applicants - those persons who truly wish to gain more comprehensive, “hands-on” knowledge about professional wedding and event planning. The successful candidate will learn research, marketing, event planning, best practices in business, and networking. While prior experience is not a requirement for selection into the program, we look for individuals who have the motivation and desire to plan magnificent events. This is a non-salaried opportunity, requiring a significant amount of time on weekends for actual events as well participation in internship related activities during the week. Successful interns must be able to commit to approximately 10 - 20 hours a week and/or 90% participation in scheduled events, be available to work from home as well as on location, and on some weekends for event production.

Responsibilities

Our Events Intern will assist with both office work and on site execution of events. Responsibilities will include (but are not limited to):

Administrative assistance
Client and vendor customer service
Online research
Blog prep & social media marketing
Creation of other marketing materials
Preparation of event coordination materials
Creation of event design
On-site assistance at weddings and events
Emailing and meeting clients
Creating and sending itineraries
Assisting vendors with event set up and tear down
Attend meetings with Cynthia to learn the flow of appointments

Requirements

Applicants must be at least 21 years of age, have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation. Be coachable, responsible, and innovative. Friendly and professional appearance and demeanor. Untiring commitment to “Superb” Customer Experience. Passionate about event design and planning. Patient, kind, solid attitude, and an infectious personality. True “team players” & works well with people. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite. Detail oriented with excellent organizational, and the ability to multi-task. Administrative and time management skills. Creative, energetic, imaginative, and comfortable thinking outside traditional boxes. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Work both independently and under close supervision. Quickly respond to changing organizational priorities. Exhibit grace under pressure. Comfortable with long hours standing (wedding days can run 10 - 12 hours). Lift 20 - 50 lbs. Social media and/or blogging experience a plus. Graphic design (knowledge of Photoshop) a plus, but not essential. Has a laptop with up to date Microsoft and/or Adobe programs installed (plus). Previous employment in hospitality or other "think on your feet" business a plus. Available to commit to approximately 10 - 20 hours a week and/or 90% participation in scheduled events, be available to work from home as well as on location, and on some weekends for event production. Have a sense of humor .
