DescriptionGENERAL SUMMARY: To assist Manager of Donor Relations & Event Services with event research, design, scheduling, planning, ROI analysis, staging and production including administrative work related to the Event Service organization, calendaring and management.

Available 8 hours to 35 hours per week.
Schedule can be made to accommodate a student’s changing schedule.
Duration ideally 3 months minimum, 4 months or more is preferred.
ResponsibilitiesRESPONSIBILITIES: Under the guidance and supervision of the Manager of Donor Relations & Event Services the Intern will:
Conduct a Market Study of the Poway area in preparation for our planned Twin Peaks Community in Poway- The 2016 Blitz and other important events.
Research event ideas / concepts / fundraisers with a track record of success
Conduct comparative pricing analysis and process purchase orders for event props, materials and staging/event supplies
Contact and Follow-up with in-kind donors, contractors, caterers, vendors and other personnel via phone and email
Research and produce letters and back-up documents requesting in-kind donations for SDHFH Events.
Additional onsite training will consist of an orientation, an overview of the current and future events schedule of SDHFH as well our Intern-built and intern-updated Guide to Event Services.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
Knowledge of Microsoft Publisher and or SmartDraw helpful, not required.
Basic knowledge of Excel databases
Understanding of the rudimentary elements of event design and production.
Willingness to learn all aspects of the event services process as defined by SDHfH.
Must be detail-oriented and have a strong ability and interest to learn
Demonstrated history of being a driven self-starter who is able to work independently
Must possess the ability to plan, organize, and handle multiple functions simultaneously and communicate clearly and professionally, both verbally and in writing.
