DescriptionNew Leaders Council is seeking an Events & Program Intern to assist the National Programs Director and team in promotion and execution NLC’s Institute and major events. NLC Interns should be available for 14-18 hours a week. This is an unpaid internship, however local travel assistance is available. Graduating seniors and students receiving educational credit are strongly encouraged to apply.
ResponsibilitiesRole and Responsibilities
The Events & Program Intern plays an important role by providing administrative, logistical, and constituent relations support to our national community. Responsibilities will be divided between online community upkeep and logistical support.
In a typical day, an Events & Program Intern could find themselves doing any of the following:
• Production and marketing of promotional materials;
• Tracking online registration and troubleshooting issues;
• Speaker/trainer development (identification and briefing materials);
• Copy editing marketing materials;
• Preparing event and program collateral;
NLC uses NationBuilder, knowledge of this platform is greatly preferred but will train the right candidate. There is potential for each Events & Program Intern to be a part of the Planning Committee for NLC’s National Leadership Retreat in July of 2016.

RequirementsWho We’re Looking For
An Events & Program Intern must be an innovative, rising star servant-leader who is passionate about civic engagement, possesses a strong attention to detail, loves interacting with people from all over the country, and has a strong familiarity with politics and government. Previous experience in customer service and events is a big bonus.
New Leaders Council is young, energetic, and very diverse. It is a progressive organization dedicated to building next generation leaders across the country. NLC and its executive team is very focused, and we strive to make decisions quickly and execute with efficiency. We want interns who share these values and the hard-charging style.
