DescriptionThe American Heart Association's mission is to build healthier lives, free of cardiovascular diseases and stroke. Students will have the opportunity to develop skills and gain experience in fundraising, event planning, social media, and community relations. This is a great opportunity for students to gain practical experiences and essential skills that will prepare them for their future careers.
ResponsibilitiesAid in the promotion and production of the Orlando Heart Ball, Go Red For Women Luncheon, Volusia Flagler Heart Ball, and Heart Walks. Plan logistical aspects of events such as entertainment, décor, photography, rentals, food/beverage, and more. Acquire in-kind donations and auction items for events. Create signage and marketing collateral for events. Prepare and organize materials and items prior to events. Assist in set up, working and strike down at pre-events, Heart Ball, Heart Walk, and the Go Red Luncheon. Manage volunteers the day of events. Assist in post-event wrap up, volunteer appreciation, and cultivations. Administrative support (maintaining databases, prep for meetings, completing mailings, etc.). Participate actively in the daily administration operations of office.
RequirementsPreferred Majors: Event Management, Communications, Non-Profit Management, Business.
Excellent customer service is a must.
Strong skills in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Publisher).
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Event planning background and non-profit volunteerism is preferred.
