Description

The Arc- Collin, Dallas & Rockwall Counties is dedicated to improving the quality of lives of those with an intellectual and/or developmental disability. We currently are seeking a Special Event Coordinator intern to assist the Executive Director with special event coordination. The position is located at 12700 Hillcrest Rd., Suite 200 Dallas, TX 75230. Our hours of operation are Monday- Friday 9:30 a.m. - 5 p.m. We need assistance year round; however, we are flexible in hours, days worked and month availability. We currently have grants out to pay for a part time and full time Special Events Coordinator; however, until the grants are awarded this position will be unpaid. The performance of this intern will be considered when the part and full time positions become available.

Responsibilities

This position will be asked to work with the Executive Director on all aspects of coordinating current scheduled and future special events. Preparing e-blast campaigns, working with our Social Media and website team to ensure proper marketing. Creation of marketing collateral, assist in generating a list of potential event sponsors, and coordiantion of event committee meetings. This intern will be responsible for generating thank you letters on Executive Director's behalf and scheduling meetings for the Executive Director to meet with potential funders.

Requirements

Interns must have expertise in taking an event concept, coordinating and executing the concept into a full scale fundraising event. This will include thinking outside of the box for fresh fundraising event ideas, recruiting committee members for the event, selecting a chair/co-chair, working within a pre-set budget, selection of theme and secure printing sponsor for all collateral associated with each event. You will work directly with the Executive Director to determine priorities as well as the details of resources and direction the events are going.
