DescriptionPurple Clover Events is one of the leading wedding and event planning companies in Southeast Michigan. We pride ourselves with helping our clients enjoy their events, and strive to have 100% customer satisfaction. We are looking for motivated individuals for our Summer/Fall 2016 and winter 2017 internship programs within the company. This position will include a mix of traditional business activities as well event execution work. The time commitment will generally be 10-15 hours a week, however more hours may be required on event weeks. Specific required dates will be discussed in the interview process.
The ideal applicant would be motivated to learn about all aspects of an event planning business in addition to the actual wedding/event day. Interns will assist with various stages of planning an event/wedding, and will be assigned their own event project during the internship. There will be a strong emphasis on marketing during the winter internship. Basic computer skills and access to a laptop are a must. Knowledge of social media for business use would be a plus. Reliable transportation is also a requirement for the position.
In addition to the technical/office support skills, applicants should be professional and personable, and able to take charge when needed. Strong communication skills and the ability to follow instructions will be very important. Applicants should also be flexible in nature, and have the ability to troubleshoot in a calm manner when needed.
This is an unpaid internship, however successful internships may result in part-time paid work in the future. We are happy to work with college students in need of credit or work experience for their program. Purple Clover Events is based out of Royal Oak, however travel around all areas of metro-Detroit may be necessary.

ResponsibilitiesResponsibilities will vary weekly, everyday is unique in the event industry! Generally speaking, interns will be responsible for working on various assignments from vendor relations, design and decor workups, to representing Purple Clover Events at industry meetings. Some days/weeks will be spend on the computer, others will be on the road at events, site visits, and other fun activities.
RequirementsMust be a high school graduate. Experience in customer service and good communication skills. Must be proficient in Word, Excel, and other basic computer programs. Familiarity in social media and blogging will be considered a huge plus!
Must have your own laptop and reliable transportation. Most meetings will be in Royal Oak, however additional travel in the metro Detroit may be required.
