ISO an intern for a small business to assist Director of Business Development at a Banquet Hall

Events Held at this venues include Weddings, Corporate Events, Baby Showers, Pool Parties, Childrens Parties, Bar & Bat Mitzvahs etc..

Will assist and shadow in areas to include event sales, logistical planning, vendor relations, small business finance, event planning/coordination

Here is further general information in regards to the internship:

Intern will observe, gain knowledge and assist in maximizing sales resources to increase bookings and revenues; observe a small business and it’s new operations, investments and advertising techniques, update, maintain and enhance social media outlets, reach out to new clientele and assist with daily operating duties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Intern will be trained on the basics of telephone sales
Solicit for future business
Intern will learn how to update existing account files; provide feedback and recommendations regarding future action on existing files to all Sales Managers
Intern will develop wedding blog posts
Intern will assist in the preparation of site visits and participate in the visitation process when appropriate
Intern will assist Sales, Room Division and Reservations Departments with promotional projects when necessary
Intern will assist in contacting photographers/florists/videographers/coordinators that have done weddings at Demers to gain photos and a story to post on the Wedding blog.
Intern will work closely with Catering Manager to keep all social media outlets accurate and current.
Intern will learn to greet, communicate, and monitor events with clients on site.
Intern will train on following-up on details and communications provided by conference/catering managers and guests
Intern will assist in coordination of other departments in carrying out catering events.
Intern will effectively communicate with guests and catering managers
Intern will learn how to conduct on-site tours of the property
Intern will gain experience on how to monitor and report condition of meeting rooms and public areas
Intern will learn how to produce printed menus
Intern will assist managers and team members as needed with duties

Working toward a Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from a four-year college or university in
