DescriptionThe Hillcrest Event Center is Event Company looking for a highly motivated and experienced wedding planner to join our team. Looking for an individual who is great with people, can keep calm under pressure, and can work well as an individual as well as a team.
Responsibilities-Answers and screens incoming department telephone calls providing customer service while fulfilling guest requests
-Create wedding day itinerary
-Responsible for all aspects of wedding coordination day of the ceremony to include: coordination of vendors i.e. minister, musician, photographer, and videographer, floral distribution, chapel set up, and seating of guests
-Creates booking, event, set up files to include lead sheet, booking checklist, memos, and all correspondence
-Contact vendors to confirm all wedding day details
-Respond to all emails and requests within determined guidelines
-Assist with day of coordination and rehearsal (including set up and décor)
-Ensure that the clients vision is effectively executed
-Collects, processes and documents advance deposits and payments
-Prepares proper correspondence for wedding events; i.e. contracts, confirmation letters, thank you letters, and invoices
-Assumes receptionist responsibilities on a rotating basis, to include greeting guests, cash handling, charge transactions, and balancing of bank
-Interviews and hires vendors, selects and order materials, negotiates rates, coordinates the sequence of events, following up with guests and vendors and producing full-scale events
Requirements-Certificate in Wedding Planning or Event Management Preferred
-College Degree in Business, Hospitality or related field
-At least 1-3 years of experience working in the wedding planning industry.
-Excellent verbal and written communication skills, ability to multi-task, meet deadlines, provide project management and have excellent organization skills
-Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel
