1. How did you get started in the industry? How can someone who is interested in your work get started?

The advertising world is always looking for motivated and outgoing people. It’s a people industry – having a tenacious learning will to start with an internship or part time position is usually the way to get in the door.

2. What’s the future of your industry or job?

Technology- there are more vehicles for advertising now than ever before. With each new media we see new and creative ways to reach a buying audience.

3. What do you look for when you hire an intern or entry-level candidate?

Someone who is detail oriented and a people person. Someone with passion and heart who cares about the job they are doing and doing it to the best of their ability.

4. What is one thing an intern can do to make a favorable impression?

Do your homework. You should do research about the company and our employees. Learn about our key players and engage us with questions about the company, its origins and its future.

5. Can you share a positive intern story and an intern horror story? No names needed…

Best: Shawn! He brought solutions and new ideas to every project we gave him and each task. Hired him as a freelancer AND found him on Internships.com!

Worst: The creepy kid in the corner – at least that’s what we called him – he literally never said a word to anybody and just sulked and lurked his way through his time with us. It was awkward for everyone. We never really gave him a second thought the day after he was finished.

Hmm, interesting! I have worked for a startup company on social media and learned a lot. Lol, “the creepy kid in the corner”. That is funny. Right. Companies like you welcome those who are motivated and can get excited easily. I really like to work this kind of people.
