Cam Jones, Gallery Assistant with Alfa Art Gallery, shares the company’s history:
The idea was conceived a long time by Galina (scientist) and Vesslin (artist). It had been a dream of theirs to own an art gallery and in 2007 a combination of economic conditions and the vacuum in New Brunswick, which was lacking a town art gallery (not a museum) were the reason to start thinking about making this dream come true. It became official in August 2007 when we rented the space, after numerous discussions and planning together with Michael S. Fenton, Petko Radilov and other artists. We immediately began renovations. The space was previously a framing shop and in dire condition.
In January we were ready for the public and had our Grand opening on Jan 30th.
