Today, Internships.com CEO Robin Richards was interviewed in Jacquelyn Smith’s blog for Forbes, in an article about handling strange questions during an interview.
For some of you, that left-field question is your worst nightmare. In the article, Robin dishes out his favorite curveball — and, yes, it would probably have me sweating:
“I sometimes ask candidates to tell a clean joke,” Richards said. “Seven out of 10 can’t recall a clean joke, and others have a tough time with delivery. I like to see that they can think on their feet.”
Then again, I don’t really tell jokes.

I have never been to an interview where I was asked difficult questions like these. Usually I am asked the generic “So, tell me about yourself.” Thanks for making me aware. This article really helped.
No problem. I kept thinking though when I posted it that there’s absolutely no way to prepare for a question like that, other than getting a good night’s sleep and a coffee.
