To decide which types of notifications to receive, go to the Inbox Messages line in Notification Settings.

We understand most of you don’t live on like we do. So we wanted to give you the option of getting notified when an employer sends you a message, no matter where you are. And to that end, we’ve got three key features you can activate at any time under Account Settings, which is located at the top right of your screen.

Each notification is triggered as soon as you receive correspondence back from an employer. Here’s a breakdown:

  • E-mail. This is the only category that will be activated by default when you set up an account. If you uncheck it, we’ll stop sending you e-mails when you have a new employer message.
  • SMS. Click this box to have a text message (SMS) sent to your mobile number of choice when you receive a new employer message. For most people, this is probably the quickest way to hear back. It’s not activated by default, and can always be deactivated by unchecking the box.
  • Facebook. When you enable Facebook messaging, we’ll write a message on your wall when you hear back from an employer. Note that to enable Facebook notifications, you must agree to share your basic Facebook information with

All of these features exist for your convenience, so if they get too annoying, turn them off. And look on the bright side — you’re attracting a lot of attention!
