Norae Shakur is an International Relations major and Spanish minor at Boston University.

What do you love most about your internship?
At my internship I get to do a ton of different things from arranging speaking arrangements for our Executive Director to handling donations and corresponding with volunteers from all over the country!

How do you think your internship can help you achieve your career goals?
My true love is fashion but I also think it’s really important to create a more sustainable world to live in. Eventually I would love to be able to combine the two into a dream career.

Craig Corlis, Intern at Cox Media Group

Craig Corlis is an A.S. Computer & Web Programming major at St. Petersburg College in Seminole, FL. He landed an internship with Cox Media Group,  a company that owns and operates six major Tampa Bay radio stations, as well as newspapers, television, and Valpak coupon interests.

What do you love most about your internship?
The best part is that when my internship was only half over, they decided they didn’t want to lose me and completed the process of hiring me – I’m now no longer an intern, but the newest members of the Digital Team for Cox Media Tampa.

What do you think you can gain from your experience at your internship?
I’m a disabled diabetic who previously worked for the police, and this will be my first professional work since 2008. I get to use my skills with web design and programming in an environment I never thought I would be a part of, working with musicians and radio personalities, as well as on concerts and contests.

The internship office at my college was not having a great deal of luck finding me a placement, so I turned to Internships.com after a quick web search myself. I messaged Cox Media and they asked me to interview for the position a day later. It was a very fast, amazing experience.
