Norae Shakur is an International Relations major and Spanish minor at Boston University.

What do you love most about your internship?
At my internship I get to do a ton of different things from arranging speaking arrangements for our Executive Director to handling donations and corresponding with volunteers from all over the country!

How do you think your internship can help you achieve your career goals?
My true love is fashion but I also think it’s really important to create a more sustainable world to live in. Eventually I would love to be able to combine the two into a dream career.

Craig Corlis, Intern at Cox Media Group

Craig Corlis is an A.S. Computer & Web Programming major at St. Petersburg College in Seminole, FL. He landed an internship with Cox Media Group,  a company that owns and operates six major Tampa Bay radio stations, as well as newspapers, television, and Valpak coupon interests.

What do you love most about your internship?
The best part is that when my internship was only half over, they decided they didn’t want to lose me and completed the process of hiring me – I’m now no longer an intern, but the newest members of the Digital Team for Cox Media Tampa.

What do you think you can gain from your experience at your internship?
I’m a disabled diabetic who previously worked for the police, and this will be my first professional work since 2008. I get to use my skills with web design and programming in an environment I never thought I would be a part of, working with musicians and radio personalities, as well as on concerts and contests.

The internship office at my college was not having a great deal of luck finding me a placement, so I turned to Internships.com after a quick web search myself. I messaged Cox Media and they asked me to interview for the position a day later. It was a very fast, amazing experience.

I love working at Event Mood! Being part of so many successful events gives me such a sense of pride and confidence.

What do you love most about your internship?
That as a telecommuter, I make bank in my pajamas.

In four months I grew from a paid intern to a member of the personnel, so when I finally got hired, I proudly framed my business card.

What do you love most about your internship?
That it gives me the chance to actually work in the industry instead of just doing projects in class.

Mariana Braz, Intern at Time to Save

Mariana Braz is currently attending Mercer County Community College in New Jersey and pursuing a major in the New Media. She is interning at Time to Save as a Social Media Expert and has plans to start another internship in January.

What do you love most about your internship?
I believe that my internship is the best way for me to gain real experience and build a strong resume.

What do you think you can gain from your experience at both your internships?
I have a BA in Journalism but I didn’t intern when I went to college in Brazil so it was hard to get a job in the field when I graduated. Since I started school again, this time in the US, I decided that I wouldn’t make the same mistake.

How did you find your internship with Time to Save?

I was looking for internships and I found internships.com. I had never heard of it before but doing some research online, it seemed the website had a great reputation, so I signed up and applied for a number of internships. A week later I started getting responses from the companies. I went to some interviews until I found the positions I thought would be a perfect fit. I’m very happy with the outcome: I’m currently interning at Time to Save as Social Media Expert and at AARP as a Communication and Event Planning intern.

Chelsey Joseph, Intern at Rocky Mountain Arsenal National Wildlife Refuge

Chelsey Joseph is a senior at the University of Colorado in Boulder pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Studies.

What do you love most about your internship?
I have always loved animals and was looking for an opportunity to get involved with protecting wildlife as well as the environment.

What do you think you can gain from your experience at Rocky Mountain Arsenal National Wildlife Refuge?
I spent the last four months facilitating classroom and field-trip programs for children in Preschool through 5th grade focusing on the wildlife and habitat at the Refuge. This opportunity was rewarding in a variety of ways, but most importantly, I feel more prepared, confident and excited to begin my career.

How did you find your internship with Rocky Mountain Arsenal National Wildlife Refuge?
I feel very lucky to have found an internship that suited both of these wishes, and I have internships.com to thank for that! After using the website to search for available internships within my degree, I found an Environmental Education intern position at the Rocky Mountain Arsenal National Wildlife Refuge in Commerce City, Colorado.

Taylor Dunnigan, Intern at Vitalicious

Taylor Dunnigan is currently a junior at Southern Connecticut State University in where she’s studying Communication with a concentration in Advertising and Promotions, and minoring in Psychology. Taylor was also recently became a  Social Media Intern at Vitalicious.

What do you love most about your internship?
I love my internship at Vitalicious because it lets me learn outside of the classroom and get real world experience.  It’s great interning for a company where you love their brand and products (being able to have access to the products in the office is an amazing perk!)

What do you think you can gain from your experience at Vitalicious?
the lessons I’ve learned are irreplaceable because this internship has helped me grow and challenge myself.

How did you find your internship with Vitalicious?

Bonnie Roberts, Intern at I.N.-TV

Bonnie is currently attending Cosumnes River College, but plans to transfer to a University to major in Computer Science. She’s currently interning for I.N.-TV, a company that looks for up and coming talent whether you’re an actor, singer, fashion designer or a painter.

How would you describe yourself?
I’m a height deficient woman, but that doesn’t stop me from reaching for my dreams! I also might be a bit of a tomboy, but I can be a girly-girl too because I love talking about beauty in my YouTube videos and blog.

What special talent do you believe helped you land your internship?
You can ask me for help with almost any technology related problem, and I can fix it!

How did you find your internship with I.N.-TV?
Internships.com lead me to internships that are similar to my major, which is how I found I.N.-TV. They made the process to create my resume/cover letter extremely simple compared to other web sites. I also learned the ins and outs of how to apply and how to make my application stand out.

What did you find most helpful on internships.com?
I found the interview articles the most helpful because the interview for I.N.-TV was over the phone. They told me ways to express myself, so that I could stick out in a good way and still be professional. Thank you so much for creating the website!
